Return from WOMAD....

I've been busy...WOMAD and workshops (making printing blocks)...but back now in time to celebrate Lughnasadh (pronounced loo'nass'ah) one of the four festivals of Celtic year.
The festival of the Irish god Lugh marking the first day of the harvest.
Traditionally a time of community gatherings, market festivals, horse races and reunions with distant family and friends.
Among the Irish it was a favored time for handfastings - trial marriages that would generally last a year and a day, with the option of ending the contract before the new year, or later formalizing it as a more permanent marriage....as good Celtic Yearites we have celebrated this tradition...all be it a little early....WOMAD Handfasting The Movie...see it here soon!

love the imagery in these - having a butterfly in your hand is such a special gift. Completely transfixing that something so trasformation should choose to land there! Life changing moments - as is handfasting - bright blessings to you!

I meant transformational of course! Where is spellcheck or an on line editor when I need it most?

Hi Lindsey
didn't think of the image like that it was just instinctive using the blocks that i had made...but love your interpretation...thank you.

Ah! Resonance of mine and Lindsey's mention of transformation in relation to this piece of expression!

Though I hadn't consciously thought of the butterfly aspect - was thinking more of changes in the light and shadows - this is a darn good point Lindsey!
